Bad news - Lanzini in Argentina provisional Olympics Squad - likely miss start of season
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manuel-lanzini-ramiro-funes-mori-8043947?

The pair could now miss the start of next season with the football schedule running from August 4 to August 20

Premier League duo Manuel Lanzini and Ramiro Funes Mori could miss the start of next season after being named in Argentina's provisional Olympics squad.

The pair were included in a 35-man squad by Gerardo Martino for this summer's games in Rio.

The Olympics football schedule runs from August 4 to August 20, meaning any player involved will miss pre-season and the first month of the new campaign.

And West Ham playmaker Lanzini and Everton defender Funes Mori could well be out of action.

The latter's inclusion raised eyebrows after he was also named in Argentina's squad for Copa America.

Former Everton boss Roberto Martinez admitted he would look into allowing Funes Mori to play in Rio but his replacement is likely to have reservations.

Lanzini meanwhile would miss West Ham's Europa League qualifiers - and their opening games at the Olympic Stadium.

Slaven Bilic's men are set to be in action as early as June 30 after securing their place in the competition through Manchester United's FA Cup success.

The 16 countries competing in Rio will select a squad of players born after January 1 1993 plus three senior players.

Juventus' Paulo Dybala was also named in the Argentina squad, along with Atletico Madrid duo Angel Correa and Luciano Vietto.

Will give him confidence.
Might not make the final squad.
Every thing is up in the air with our squad anyway so it's all guess work.

Why are you bringing me into this?

This has nothing to do with the board, so why would I even think about including them?

Grow up.

No doubt we'll have a couple of new faces (Tore etc) come the start of the season so he won't be such a miss initially. Well Done to him though, nice to his development continue.

Pleased for him but a bit of a blow. Didn't do Tomkins any favours 4 years ago.
